Republicans who control both houses of Congress and the White House have used this time in control to make power moves against those they consider to have been protected by Democrats.

Among those is Prince Andrew of England, long connected to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) has called for the prince to be prosecuted, as The Daily Mail reported.

Mace has aligned herself with victims of the disgraced royal, all of whom were forced t settle a civil case brought against Andrew and Epstein.

Mace spoke out on social media, saying Prince Andrew deserves a "cold dark cell," and saying his prosecution would send the "right message."

From Mace

The South Carolina Republican went on to say that there needs to be accountability for those found to have terrorized or assaulted others, particularly if they are being protected by people in power.

“Real healing for survivors starts when predators are held accountable,” added Mace. “It’s time to put prosecution first so victims, survivors, and the country can finally begin to heal.”

The lawmaker, who is herself a survivor of assault, assured those who felt the sting of this injustice that she will “continue to stand with victims demanding justice and full transparency.”

Some respondents believe that it’s not just the prince that should be held accountable, with one user on social media saying, "Out them ALL, not just pick and choose. They should ALL be held accountable.”

Another said, “All of the predators, not just a select few. ALL OF THEM."

Mace’s Battle

This came just days after Mace left a Committee on Oversight meeting in tears, without explaining her actions to the reporters in the hallway.

Mace later explained on social media that the event included testimony from Epstein’s victims, and those stories were just too difficult to hear at the time, so she left.

"As a recent survivor (not 2 years in), I had a very difficult time listening to their stories. Full-blown panic attack. Sweating. Hyperventilating. Shaking. I can't breathe," Mace said.

"I feel the immense pain of how hard all victims are fighting for themselves because we know absolutely no one will fight for us."
