Nancy Pelosi barked at a reporter when questions about whether she will serve full term in Congress

When asked if she planned to serve her whole two-year term in Congress, outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) screamed at the reporter and refused to respond.

According to Breitbart News, Pelosi's Thursday press conference might have been her final as a member of the House leadership since Congress will soon be on holiday vacation.

Pelosi was re-elected in the midterm elections, but she just resigned from her position as head of the House of Representatives to make room for Rep. Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) to lead the Democrats in the House in the ensuing Congress.

Pelosi hesitant

Pelosi was hesitant to commit to serving the entire two-year term that her voters had just given her.

“Will you commit to serving your full two-year term for the people of San Francisco?” One reporter asked Pelosi during the press conference.

“What is this? What is this?” a seemingly annoyed Pelosi responded. “Don’t bother me with a question like that. Really. Really, okay?”

Pelosi added that the reporter’s question was “such a waste” of her time: “I said what I’m gonna do. Those kind of questions are such a waste of my time,” Pelosi said.

Because Pelosi has not publicly stated that she will serve the entire two-year term, the reporter's question was legitimate. Furthermore, earlier this year, rumors stated that Pelosi "is expected" to step down following the midterm elections.

In a joint interview with CNN's Jamie Gangel, outgoing House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) sat down at a restaurant. In response to Gangel's question on what a second Trump term would entail, Pelosi said, "I don't think we should speak about him while we're eating."

Need for an intervention

Schumer laughed and then Pelosi went on to say, “Really? Another Trump presidency?” Pelosi continued, before suggesting there’s “a need for an intervention there by his family or somebody. I don’t think he’s on the level, no,” she added.

At another point in the interview, Schumer spoke to Pelosi about dealing with Trump during his presidency, "I tell people Nancy instinctively knew how to handle Trump, because for her first, you know, 35, 40 years of life, she raised five children, and she knew how to deal with children. And that’s what helped her deal with Trump, because he ultimately was a child,” Schumer said.

Pelosi and Schumer both said they would back President Joe Biden to run for the White House again in 2024: “I think President Biden has done an excellent job as president of the United States,” said Pelosi. “I hope that he does seek reelection.

"He’s been a great president. Look at what he’s accomplished,” Schumer added. “He’s done an excellent, excellent job and if he runs, I’m gonna support him all the way.”
