New York attorney general rails against Supreme Court ruling on nationwide injunctions
Earlier this year, President Donald Trump signed an executive order aimed at withholding birthright citizenship from the children of illegal aliens.
While the Supreme Court has yet to rule on the order, America's highest judicial body moved on Friday to prevent lower courts from issuing nationwide injunctions against it. That decision has outraged Democrats like New York Attorney General Letitia James.
James: "The issue of birthright citizenship was not decided today"
According to Newsmax, the state attorney general was quick to denounce Friday's ruling in a social media post, writing, "This is not over."
This is not over.
The issue of birthright citizenship was not decided today. SCOTUS remanded to the lower court the authority of federal judges to issue nationwide injunctions.

"The issue of birthright citizenship was not decided today. SCOTUS remanded to the lower court the authority of federal judges to issue nationwide injunctions," she pointed out.
James further insisted that "[a] state attorney general who respects the Constitution is now more important than ever."
James calls decision "profound and disappointing"
James reiterated her stance in an official statement, declaring, "Today's decision is a profound and disappointing setback for the families who now face tremendous uncertainty and danger, for the millions of people who rely on the courts to protect their constitutional rights, and for the fundamental rule of law."
"Every child born on U.S. soil is a citizen of this country, no matter which state they are born in. This has been the law of the land for more than a century," she continued.
“This is not over. While I am confident that our case defending birthright citizenship will ultimately prevail, my heart breaks for the families whose lives may be upended by the uncertainty of this decision," James asserted.
"My fellow attorneys general and I will continue to defend the Constitution and the common values that unite us," she went on to add.
Trump says ruling stopped a "colossal abuse of power"
In contrast, Fox News reported that the Supreme Court's finding was welcomed by President Donald Trump at a White House news conference.
Trump told reporters that the justices had halted a "colossal abuse of power" by courts who are trying to "dictate the law for the entire nation."
"I was elected on a historic mandate, but in recent months, we've seen a handful of radical left judges effectively try to overrule the rightful powers of the president to stop the American people from getting the policies that they voted for in record numbers," he declared.
What's more, Trump pledged that the Department of Justice will "promptly file to proceed with numerous policies that have been wrongly enjoined on a nationwide basis."
