As federal prosecutors continue targeting non-violent offenders who were involved in the Jan. 6 Capitol riots, more sad news keeps popping up as a result.

According to Breitbart, Nejourde Meacham, a 22-year-old who entered the Capitol on that day, died last week as a result of what may have been suicide.

He was reportedly facing four misdemeanors for his alleged role in the events that unfolded that day, with none of them being violent offenses.

Meacham is one of hundreds facing the wrath of Biden's DOJ for their involvement on Jan. 6.

What did he do?

Breitbart noted that Meacham entered the Capitol building and at one point, raised a "Trump 2020" flag through a broken window, but never reportedly committed violence or caused any destruction to the building.

The outlet noted:

It states that he walked into the U.S. Capitol, then “walked to a broken southern window, looked out, and raised his ‘TRUMP 2020’ flag.” He was later escorted out of the building by law enforcement. He did nothing violent or destructive.

Meacham reportedly attended the "Stop the Steal" rally first at the Washington Monument with thousands of others before heading to the Capitol building.

He went with his uncle, Odin, who was ultimately charged "with violent felonies, including attacking police officers with a wooden pole."

Many questioned whether he was being pursued for the charges simply because his uncle allegedly committed more serious offenses that day.

Suicide reported

Julie Kelly, known for her extensive and thorough reporting on the events of Jan. 6 and the aftermath, including multiple suicides, confirmed via Twitter that Meacham's death was likely self-inflicted.

Breitbart added:

Other January 6 defendants have been known to commit suicide, including Matt Perna of Pennsylvania, 37, who was also a non-violent offender and had pleaded guilty. According to his family, Perna died of a “broken heart.”

Only time will tell if the horrific trend continues as more prosecutions are brought to bear. It's truly sad that people, especially young people like Meacham, are subjected to treatment fit for an actual violent criminal.
