NYC mayor Eric Adams might join the GOP
New York City Mayor Eric Adams (D) has refused to rule out the possibility of switching political parties.
The New York Post reports that Adams, given light of recent circumstances, was asked on Friday whether he might consider joining the Republican Party.
To the surprise of some, he did not say "no." Instead, he suggested that it is not outside the realm of possibility.
This marks a stunning change that has occurred in Adams ever since he was indicted by the Biden administration's Department of Justice (DOJ). Many have suggested that this just might be the cause of Adams' recent change.

On Friday, Adams participated in an interview with NY1, and it was there that he was asked whether he "would ever consider rejoining the GOP."
"The party that is most important for me is the American party. I'm a part of the American party. I love this country," Adams replied.
Adams went on to participate in another interview, later in the day, with Pix11. There, the interviewer pressed Adams a bit on this subject, and Adams said that he will remain a Democrat - at least for now.
He said:
I am going to run for my re-election as a Democrat, but my focus is the America people and the people of New York City, and those who don’t like it, they will cancel me, and I say, "Cancel me."
Importantly, Adams, during this interview, refused to rule out the possibility of joining Republicans.
Here's what is going on:
This was all brought about by the fact that Adams has managed to find some common ground - or at least seems to have found some common ground - with President-Elect Donald Trump. The common ground is on the subject of illegal immigration.
Trump has made is very clear what is intentions are, namely, to fix the southern border crisis by implementing stricter immigration laws and by deporting illegal immigrants. Many state Democrats, from around the country, have already indicated that they plan to oppose Trump's plan. Adams, however, is one exception.
CBS New York reports:
New York City Mayor Eric Adams will meet with President-elect Trump's border czar next week and says he has suggestions to combat the migrant crisis.
This, of course, does not mean that Adams is fully on board with Trump's plan.
But, the fact that he is a Democrat and that he is willing to at least hear Trump out is already a big deal. We'll have to see how this all plays out once Trump gets in office.
