During an interview earlier this month with MSNBC, President Joe Biden insisted that his son Hunter "has done nothing wrong." However, at least one observer thinks the president's narrative could soon change.

In an article published this past weekend, Daily Caller White House correspondent Diana Glebova suggested that the president may need to "sacrifice" Hunter as part of his 2024 run.

"Unlike his 2020 campaign, Joe Biden is facing public scrutiny for his son’s alleged business dealings, pornographic tapes found on his abandoned laptop and his treatment of his out-of-wedlock daughter," she wrote.

Glebova went on to recall how stories concerning the laptop "were largely silenced" by both mainstream media outlets and big tech platforms.

What's more, the device was dismissed as Russian disinformation by former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper and other intelligence figures, something even the Washington Post has since acknowledged to be false.

Hunter Biden has since become the focus of a criminal investigation, with Fox News reporting three weeks ago that federal prosecutors are "close" to making a decision on whether to charge him.

Democratic strategist admits a conviction will "hurt" Biden

Glebova pointed out that even some within the Democratic Party agree that should the president's son be found guilty then it would lead to headaches for his father in next year's race.

Among them is Brad Bannon, a Democratic strategist who serves as president of Bannon Communications Research. Bannon told the Daily Caller that such a development would likely "hurt" Biden.

Meanwhile, former White House press secretary Jen Psaki recently told MSNBC that "when there’s a conclusion of the investigation into Hunter, they’ll have to say something."

For their part, Republicans suspect that the situation surrounding Hunter Biden will only grow worse as time goes on.

House Oversight Committee says Biden family received millions in foreign cash

"Hunter Biden has been one headache after another for the Biden administration, and the problem isn’t going away," Tennessee Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn told the Daily Caller.

"What deals did Hunter score using his dad’s political connections? Which Biden family members were potentially involved in laundering money? How deep are the Biden family’s ties with Communist China?" she asked.

"Americans are tired of the two tiers of justice that have dismissed Hunter Biden’s clear pattern of corruption for too long," the conservative lawmaker went on to add.

Fox News reported earlier this month that the House Oversight Committee has obtained banking records which show that some $10 million worth of foreign cash was filtered through a series of companies to members of the Biden family.
