Old photographs of Melania Trump highlight her resemblance to son Barron
In 2017, NBC's "Today Show" made headlines when it published photographs of then-First Lady Melania Trump from her time as a young model.
The black and white images recently resurfaced on social media and have led some observers to compare Mrs. Trump's appearance with that of her son.
Future first lady was discovered outside of a fashion show
According to the "Today Show," the images were taken by photographer Stane Jerko in Trump's native Slovenia when she was 16 years old.
Mrs. Trump, who was at the time known as Melania Knauss, was spotted by Jerko as she sat on a fence and waited for a friend to finish participating in a fashion show.

"It was January 1987 when I went home just before the end of the fashion show," Jerko was quoted as saying in an emailed statement.
"On the stairs of the Festival Hall, I saw a girl that immediately caught my eye. There stood a tall, slender and attractive long-haired girl with distinct eyes," he recalled.
Mr. Trump once admitted that his son "looks more like Melania"
Meanwhile, the Irish Star noted this week that social media users have highlighted Mrs. Trump's resemblance to 18-year-old Barron.
Of particular note are the "thick eyebrows" and "brown hair" that mother and son share. Those features stand in sharp contrast to President-elect Donald Trump's "blonde, wispy locks."
The Star recalled how Mr. Trump has previously acknowledged that Barron takes after his mother, once telling The Palm Beach Post, "He looks more like Melania. He's like her in temperament. Very calm."
However, one way in which Barron differs from both his parents is in his height, with the college freshman now towering over the president-elect and incoming first lady.
Sources say Barron helped guide his father's podcast strategy
What's more, multiple sources say that Barron took a behind-the-scenes role this year in supporting his father's presidential campaign.
Longtime Trump adviser Jason Miller told Politico's "Playbook Deep Dive" in October Barron helped select podcasts for his father to appear on, saying, "Every single recommendation he’s had has turned out to be absolute ratings gold that’s broke the internet. He's done a great job."
Republican National Committee (RNC) Co-Chair Lara Trump has made similar remarks, telling podcast host Patrick Bet-David that Barron "is going to do really incredible things" and often provides his father with political advice.
