Over 100 beagles suffered 'unspeakable' act at the hands of Dem lawmaker now railing against Trump

A Democratic lawmaker who is seeking to remove President Trump from office is facing accusations that he cruelly tested medications on more than a hundred dogs, and then left them to starve to death.

The 2010 closure of a testing lab was orchestrated by Shri Thanedar. The facility, AnaClin Preclinical Services, was shuttered following the bankruptcy of the Democrat-owned parent firm, Azopharma, as The Daily Mail reported.

Huff Post reports that local animal rights activists in New Jersey notified authorities about 118 beagles that had been left behind, imprisoned in the facility months after the lab had closed.

Former employees of the lab told USA Today that they had been sneaking food and water past security gates in order to give the dogs what they needed.

Egregious Abuse

Insiders blew the whistle. On the atrocities, saying even before the pups were left to starve, their lives were horrific at the lab, as they were used for toxicology testing.

"We believe that they have never been outside, ever," one unnamed woman told the Times Herald-Record in 2010.

"I don’t think they’ve actually had their paws on the grass. When I walked in here it looked like they were walking on eggshells. They were kind of afraid to walk on the grass."

The abused dogs were eventually rescued and placed with families seeking pets through two animal rescue organizations.

Thandar's Response

Rep. Thanedar told DailyMail earlier in the week, "These attacks are completely false and have been repeatedly litigated.

"When the lab was closed all of the animals were given to happy homes. In my long business career, I am proud to report that no animal was hurt or died under my watch.

"In Congress, I have made animal rights a top priority. I have a 100% record in protecting animal rights as a lawmaker, and I was honored to be awarded the Humane Society's highest legislative award not just once, but two years in a row.

The lawmaker went on to say that, "I look forward to building on my strong animal rights records this Congress and for years to come."

The Excuse

Previously, the Democrat informed the reporters that the lab was under the control of Bank of America after being seized in the bankruptcy case.

"I have no knowledge how well the bank took care of the animals," Rep Thanedar said.

"It is my understanding that Bank of America made arrangements to assign caretakers for the animals and secure homes for them, but those decisions came from the bank after I left the company... I am an animal lover and completely understand the sensitivity of this issue."

"No animal was harmed or subjected to any harmful conditions. No electric experiments were conducted," he added.

" A free people [claim] their rights, as derived from the laws of nature."
