More than two-thirds of Americans said that President Joe Biden is too old to serve a second term, according to a new poll.
The Quinnipiac poll released recently noted 66% agreeing with the statement that “Biden is too old to effectively serve another 4-year term as president.”

“Republicans (90 – 8 percent) and independents (69 – 28 percent) think that Biden is too old, while Democrats 57 – 41 percent think that Biden is not too old to effectively serve another 4-year term as president,” the poll found.
"In contrast, only 37 percent of respondents said former President Donald Trump, 76, is too old to serve a second term as president. Fifty-nine percent said he is not too old," it added.
Still more bad news for Biden. In new poll 65% say he is too old to be president. Huge number. Even 1/3 of Dems say he's too old. Age is *the* issue of 2024 campaign. Before considering any other candidate or issue, it is voters' threshold question. https://t.co/UFtCcvpmTV

"The evidence is piling up that most people do not believe Joe Biden is mentally or physically fit to serve a second term as president of the United States," Byron York said in an op-ed for the Washington Examiner.
"A few weeks ago, this newsletter discussed a poll by ABC News and the Washington Post that found 63% of registered voters did not think Biden has the "mental sharpness" to serve and that 62% said he is not in good enough physical health to serve," he added.

The same study found, "In terms of favorability, Biden is underwater at 39% favorability and 54% unfavorability, with 4% not hearing enough about the president."
Fox News added, "Comparatively, Trump sits at a 40% favorability and a 56% unfavorability, with 2% not hearing enough about the former president."
The news also comes as both Sen. Tim Scott (SC) and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis formally made announcements to run for president as Republicans.
The polls show that many voters have concerns about the ages of both Biden and Trump, with Biden showing far stronger concern among respondents, including Democrats.
The age question will also likely be a factor in upcoming primary debates as candidates seek an advantage during the heated months ahead.
