PA Supreme Court orders election officials to stop counting illegal ballots

Pennsylvania continues to remain a total mess regarding the election outcome, at least on the Democratic side of things.

According to the New York Post, the Pennsylvania Supreme Court struck down an attempt by Democratic officials in the state who were ready to count illegal ballots as Sen. Bob Casey refuses to concede to Republican winner Dave McCormick.

The controversy comes as Republicans took back majority control of the Senate, putting Democrats in quite the bind, legislatively, given that the GOP now controls the White House, the House of Representatives, and the Senate.

Election officials in Pennsylvania were instructed to follow an original ruling that prohibited counting mail-in and absentee ballots without dates on them.

What's going on?

Those election officials had ignored the original order that barred them from counting undated ballots, stirring up a whirlwind of controversy as Casey continued to refuse to concede the race.

The NY Post noted:

The Republican National Committee (RNC) and Republican Party of Pennsylvania appealed to the justices to block the counting of undated ballots in all of the state’s 67 counties, among other lawsuits related to the Senate contest.

National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) spokesman Philip Letsou released a statement regarding the state's high court's ruling.

"The Pennsylvania Supreme Court rightfully struck down the flagrantly lawless campaign by Bob Casey and his scumbag lawyer, Marc Elias, to undermine the will of the voters and steal a Senate seat weeks after the election was called," Letsou said.

Letsou added, "Josh Shapiro, John Fetterman, and national Democrats must call on Casey to concede and stop undermining faith in our elections."

Social media reaction

Users across social media weighed in on the PA Supreme Court's ruling. Many believe that it was necessary to prevent Casey and Democrats from "stealing" the election.

"This ruling from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court is not just a victory; it's a reaffirmation of the sanctity of our electoral process. It's a clear message that in America, every vote must count, and every fraudulent vote will be challenged," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Bring down the Hammer of Justice now! Time to jail them!"

Only time will tell if PA Democrats will continue to ignore the latest ruling, and what might result if that happens.
