Last month, the Senate Judiciary Committee revealed that former Special Counsel Jack Smith's "Arctic Frost" team obtained the phone records of Capitol Hill Republicans.

An even bigger revelation came this week when Attorney General Pam Bondi named President Donald Trump as one of Smith's targets.

Smith obtained Trump's personal phone records

As Breitbart reported, Bondi's announcement came in the form of a Tuesday social media post which read, "During the Arctic Frost Investigation, we found that Special Counsel seized President Trump’s government-issued phone."

"This means the Biden Administration turned over President Trump’s phone to Special Counsel — an UNPRECEDENTED action," the attorney general stressed.

"In addition, Special Counsel subpoenaed all of President Trump’s PERSONAL phone records. We can never again allow this kind of government weaponization in America," Bondi continued.

The attorney general went on to say that she has "submitted these new documents to our partners on Capitol Hill" before adding, "I commend our team at the FBI for working diligently to expose this."

Texas congressman seeks to impeach Judge James Boasberg

Bondi's statement came out the same day that Texas Republican Rep. Brandon Gill introduced articles of impeachment against U.S. District Judge James Boasberg, who signed off on the Arctic Frost subpoena requests.

"Chief Judge Boasberg has compromised the impartiality of the judiciary and created a constitutional crisis," Gill was quoted as telling Fox News.

"He is shamelessly weaponizing his power against his political opponents, including Republican members of Congress who are faithfully serving the American people within their jurisdiction," the lawmaker declared.

"Judge Boasberg was an accomplice in the egregious Arctic Frost scandal where he equipped the Biden DOJ to spy on Republican senators," Gill insisted.

Sen. Eric Schmitt: Judge's actions are "worthy of impeachment proceedings"

Gill's impeachment effort already has the support of Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, who called for Boasberg's removal during a press conference this past Friday.

"My assumption is Judge Boasberg printed these [subpoenas] out like the placemats at Denny’s, one after another," Cruz told reporters at a press conference.

"I am right now calling on the House to impeach Judge Boasberg," Cruz stated. "Judge Boasberg put his robes down, stood up, and said, ‘Sign me up to be part of the partisan vendetta against 20% of the Republicans in the Senate."

Cruz's sentiments were echoed by Missouri Republican Sen. Eric Schmitt, who maintained that Boasberg's actions are "worthy of impeachment proceedings."
