Pam Bondi slams Biden-era FBI inaction on J6 pipe bomber case
After years of apparent neglect, the arrest of a suspect in the January 5, 2021, pipe bomb plot at the DNC and RNC headquarters has exposed troubling delays under the previous administration’s watch.
Breitbart reported that the case, involving Brian Cole Jr., charged with planting explosive devices and transporting them across state lines, finally saw progress after months of relentless investigation spurred by the Trump administration’s renewed focus.
On January 5, 2021, pipe bombs were discovered at the headquarters of both the Republican and Democratic National Committees, a chilling act meant to sow chaos in the nation’s capital.
Investigators later uncovered that Cole, the prime suspect, had been scheming this attack for months, well before the tensions of early 2021 reached their peak.
Charged with placing the bombs, transporting explosives interstate, and attempting malicious destruction, Cole faces a litany of accusations, with more potentially on the horizon as the probe continues.
The sheer audacity of targeting both major political parties’ nerve centers raises eyebrows about what other schemes might have followed in the wake of this incident.
Years of Evidence Ignored
Here’s the kicker: evidence pointing to Cole was already in the FBI’s hands during the Biden administration, yet it sat untouched, gathering dust while the case went cold.
Attorney General Pam Bondi didn’t mince words, calling out the “total lack of movement on this case in our nation’s capital,” which she argued “undermined the public trust of our enforcement agencies.”
That’s a polite way of saying the prior leadership dropped the ball, leaving a dangerous suspect at large while bureaucrats seemingly twiddled their thumbs.
Fast forward to the Trump administration’s return to the helm, and suddenly, the FBI was back in action, diving into over 3 million lines of data to pin down the culprit.
No new tips or witnesses emerged; instead, as Bondi noted, “There was no new tip, there was no new witness, just good, diligent police work and prosecutorial work.”
Isn’t it telling that all it took was a change in priorities to get justice moving, while progressive agendas under the previous regime seemed to stall such critical investigations?
Massive Effort Yields Results
The investigative effort was nothing short of Herculean, with thousands of hours of CCTV footage reviewed from around the DNC and RNC areas, alongside tracing the sale of over 233,000 black end caps used in the bombs.
Every pipe, wire, steel piece, and nine-volt battery purchase was scrutinized to find links to Cole, proving that old-fashioned grit can still outshine bureaucratic inertia any day.
While some might argue the delay was just oversight, the lack of progress under former FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland paints a picture of misplaced focus at best, and negligence at worst.
