Pelosi accused of being 'complicit' in 'genocide' against Palestinians by anti-Israel protesters during Seattle speech

The ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, sparked by Hamas' murderous Oct. 7 wave of attacks across southern Israel, has exposed a deep rift within the Democratic Party and its leftist activist base.

That was abundantly clear on Thursday when pro-Palestinian protesters repeatedly disrupted a speech delivered by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and accused the congresswoman of being "complicit" in Israeli "genocide" against the Palestinian people, KOMO News reported.

The incident occurred in Seattle, Washington, as Pelosi addressed an event at the Westin Hotel, where the anti-Israel protesters harangued the former speaker, who has expressed her support for the Jewish nation, and other attendees both inside and outside the building.

According to KOMO, the disruptive protest was organized by a group known as Samidoun which purports to be a "Palestinian prisoner solidarity network" that has chapters in numerous countries around the globe and has led dozens of anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian protests worldwide over the past few months.

One of that group's protesters in Seattle told the local news outlet, "We are here to make our demands clear, we are calling for an immediate cease-fire, we are calling for an end to U.S. funding, an end to the siege on Gaza, an end to the occupation of Palestine, and to free all Palestinian prisoners."

It is believed that the event disrupted by the protesters was a Democratic Party fundraiser, which was reportedly also attended by Washington state Gov. Jay Inslee. It is unknown if any of the protesters were arrested or received citations for their disruptive acts.

The Messenger reported that former Speaker Pelosi's speech at the event in Seattle was disrupted on multiple occasions by protesters who stood up and shouted over her, much to the dismay of the other attendees who were trying to hear what the long-serving congresswoman had to say.

"Nancy Pelosi, you are complicit in the Israeli crime of genocide!" one protester, who claimed to be an Iraqi refugee, shouted at the former speaker. "I watch your government you represent kill a million of my people! You killed 70,000 Afghans and now over 30,000 Palestinians have died due to your complicity!"

"We demand an end to the Zionist occupation of Palestine! We demand an end to the 17-year-long brutal siege of Gaza to be lifted! We demand an end! End the occupation now!" the protester added and repeated as she was led away by security.

Pelosi's San Francisco home repeatedly targeted by anti-Israel protesters

This is far from the first time that former Speaker Pelosi has been targeted by supposed pro-Palestinian protesters who seem to only make demands for concessions by Israel and rarely even mention Hamas, which is solely responsible for the current conflict, much less demand accountability for the terrorist organization that governs Gaza.

Just two weeks ago, the Bay Area's KTVU reported that residents of Pelosi's upscale San Francisco neighborhood were rudely awakened early on a Sunday morning by Code Pink-organized anti-war protesters who loudly demanded a ceasefire in the Israel-Hamas conflict, then returned later in the afternoon to stage a protest again.

A couple of weeks before that, local ABC affiliate KGO reported on New Year's Day that anti-Israel demonstrators had loudly protested against her support of the Jewish nation and called for an immediate end to the conflict outside Pelosi's home.

In fact, this has been going on since at least early December, when The Hill reported on another Code Pink-organized protest outside Pelosi's home that similarly accused her and others of being "complicit" in and supportive of an ongoing "genocide" waged by Israel against innocent Palestinians -- again with virtually no mention of the integral role Hamas played in starting the current conflict with its murders, rapes, and kidnappings of innocent Israeli civilians.
