U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) continues to try to claim that she is not responsible for President Joe Biden's removal from the presidential race. 

However, it is looking more and more likely that she did, essentially, call Biden's campaign quits.

Pelosi, according to Fox News, gave her latest statement on the situation during a recent interview with CNN.

If it is true that Pelosi is responsible for Biden's ouster, then it is also true that she is responsible for ending Biden's multi-decade career in government. In a few months, the U.S. government will be without Biden for the first time in some five decades.

Background

Over the summer, reports were released indicating that Pelosi likely played a key role in Biden's withdrawal from the 2024 race.

NBC News, for example, reported:

Although Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Pelosi’s protégé, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, both of New York, also told Biden about Democrats' concerns about him continuing his campaign, three sources told NBC News that any time the issue of his dropping out began to die down and lose momentum, they viewed Pelosi as the one fanning the flames.

Since then, Pelosi has been trying to profess innocence.

She has done so in multiple interviews in which she attempted to flatter Biden. At one point, she even claimed that Biden should be added to Mount Rushmore.

Pelosi's latest interview on the matter took place on Saturday.

"He's fabulous"

During the interview, Pelosi, once again, tried to defend her actions and tried to mitigate any role she played in removing Biden by flattering him.

She said, "Now, my concerns were around the campaign, not about the candidate. He‘s fabulous."

If this response does not make a lot of sense to you, you are not alone. But, Pelosi was not pressed on the subject. She was, though, asked whether she has spoken to Biden since she helped to have him removed from the 2024 race.

She said:

I haven’t spoken to him since July, but of course, we‘ve been out of session for a while and I‘ve been on the campaign trail constantly . . . I think his legacy is a very substantial one for our country. It is our legacy too. I did not want that to be lost . . . But the campaign, I thought, was not going in the right direction, and I expressed my concern about that.

Pelosi recently "crossed paths" with Biden for the first time since his removal. It does not appear that they interacted. It would be safe to say, at this point, that Biden is not too happy with Nancy.
