Pelosi slams Speaker Johnson over Epstein vote

Democrats have used the Jeffrey Epstein situation to score as many political points as possible, even though it wasn't long ago that they didn't even care about the issue and pretended that it hadn't even happened.

According to The Hill, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) slammed Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) for adjourning the House before it was set to take up a vote on the release of additional Epstein documents.

Pelosi's criticism echoed that of many Democrats who suddenly seem to care about the Epstein files. The situation was exploited politically after AG Pam Bondi and other top officials in Trump's administration claimed that there's no conspiracies behind the disgraced financier's death.

Bondi also claimed that the so-called "Epstein list" doesn't exist, even though earlier this year she casually suggested the list was on her desk just waiting to be reviewed.

What did Pelosi say?

The former speaker made sure to be as dramatic as possible in her seemingly faux concerns about whatever remaining Epstein files exist.

"For years, Epstein’s victims — many of them just children when they were abused — have waited for justice, often in silence and in pain. They deserve answers. They deserve dignity. And they deserve action from their government,” Pelosi wrote in an X post.

She added, "That is why it is especially shameful that Speaker Johnson has shut down the House of Representatives for the summer to avoid a vote on this resolution."

Pelosi went on to accuse Johnson and the Trump administration of "blocking transparency" in the matter.

"To block transparency in this manner is not only an abdication of duty — it is a profound insult to the victims who have carried the burden of this trauma for decades,” Pelosi added.

“The American people deserve to know the full extent of who was involved with Epstein and all of them must be held accountable — no matter how powerful."

MAGA controversy

While the Democrats' faux rage is mostly being ignored, the Epstein situation has caused infighting within MAGA world.

Many have criticized Trump and the administration for seemingly -- and suddenly -- sweeping the Epstein situation under the proverbial rug.

Trump has insisted, on multiple occasions now, that there's nothing to it and that people should focus on more important issues.

Many on the left claim he's taking that route due to the possible inclusion of his name in some of the remaining files, though it's certainly not clear in what context that would be.
