A group of military doctors are calling on the Pentagon to endorse the "human right" of children as young as seven years old to undergo life-altering gender transition therapies, such as puberty blockers and hormone injections.

The disturbing manifesto appeared in the American Journal of Public Health, warning that failure to provide "gender-affirming care" to military children would harm the "readiness" of the armed services.

Authors David A. Klein, Thomas Baxter, and clinical psychologist Natasha A. Schvey, PhD work at Travis Air Force Base in California, while Noelle S. Larson is a pediatric endocrinologist at the Department of Pediatrics at Walter Reed medical center.

The article starts by echoing the bogus premise that the recent explosion in gender dysphoria among young people is the natural result of rising social acceptance, and not kids being influenced by their environment and predators pushing an ideology.

Woke Pentagon targets children

The authors dismissed "well-intentioned" doctors who advocate waiting before putting a child with gender dysphoria through a gender transition.

"Prior research has found that children can begin participating in their medical decision-making as early as age seven years with gradual increases in decision-making capacity, and adolescents prefer shared decision-making," the article says.

The radical push for so-called "gender-affirming care" by the Democratic party and leftist groups is based on cultic pseudoscience that is viewed with skepticism in Europe, where countries have moved to restrict gender transitions for minors.

Republican lawmakers' efforts to bar access to "gender-affirming care" threaten "military readiness," the Pentagon doctors argued.

"These laws and regulations are especially harmful to youths who identify as Black, Indigenous, or people of color and those from disadvantaged backgrounds," they wrote.

The authors acknowledged that 53 percent of military doctors said they would refuse to provide puberty blockers to minors.

Still, they urged the Pentagon to publicly endorse "gender-affirming care" for minors and train military doctors on providing it. The so-called doctors echoed the absurd claim that any effort to cure children of their dysphoria, so they can be their natural selves, is a form of "conversion therapy."

"Patients may face 'gatekeeping' and major delays in care, including protracted and pathologizing psychiatric evaluations that question patient motives," they wrote.

The authors asserted on the basis of "deontological and consequentialist reasoning, rooted in empirical evidence" that minors have a "human right" to "consent to gender-affirming therapy."

The ideological raving of these doctors is just more evidence of the decay of professional medicine and the "do no harm" principle in the era of vaccine mandates and woke insanity. China must be thrilled to know that radicals are destroying America from within.
