Pilot and social media star Jenny Blalock dies alongside father in plane crash

Fans of pilot and social media personality Jenny Blalock were left in mourning last week after she died in a plane crash.

According to People magazine, the 45-year-old was flying with her father, 78-year-old James Blalock, on Thursday when the plane they were in went down.

Videos showed that pilot and her father often flew together

The publication noted that Ms. Blalock operated a  YouTube channel called 865flygirl which has over 16,000 followers.

The channel's description reads, "I’m a private pilot, flying for fun in a Beechcraft debonair. My channel is about aviation and my journey flying to different places."

"Private pilots have a unique perspective on aviation that can be informative and entertaining. Owner of Plantation Reclaimed Inc. and Luxe Homes and Design. I LOVE to Fly! So stay tuned and enjoy my videos!" it added.

Blalock's latest upload was titled "Finding The Right Trainer Plane... For A Friend." What's more, many videos showed the pilot flying with her father.

Crash occurred in Giles County, Tennessee

WSMV4 reported that the pair departed from Downtown Island Home Airport in Knoxville, Tennessee at 10:48 a.m. and were on their way to Abernathy Field Airport in Pulaski.

Capt. Joe Purvis serves with the Giles County Sheriff's Office, and he was quoted as saying that the crash occurred near Pulaski, close to the Marshall County line.

Fans express heartbreak over Blalock's death

Upon learning of her death, some of Blalock's fans posted tributes on her Instagram page, including one which read, "So heartbreaking 💔 sending lots of love hugs and prayers to her family and friends."

Another fan declared that she was "very saddened to hear this news. Many prayers going out to her Mom, family, and friends."

Blalock's passing was also noted by fellow social media personality Johnny Osborne, who remarked, "OMG I'm just hearing of this. prayers to both Jenny and James and the family."
