Poll: Biden's approval rating hits new low as Trump gains in popularity

While President Joe Biden has long struggled with low approval ratings, a recent survey found that his popularity has reached a new low.

Yet as Breitbart columnist John Nolte pointed out on Thursday, Biden's polling emergency comes even as his successor is enjoying an upswing in popularity.

President-elect is now 6% more popular than just before Election Day

As evidence of that, Nolte pointed to the results of an Emerson College survey which was conducted between November 20 and November 22.

The poll put President-elect Donald Trump's favorability rating at 54%, which is six points higher than it stood just prior to this month's election.

In contrast, Biden's job approval rating has dropped to 36%, representing the lowest figure he has seen since first coming into office.

Spencer Kimball serves as executive director of Emerson College Polling, and he said that "Trump's favorability varies significantly by gender, race, and age."

Trump's favorability rating has gone up sharply among younger voters

"Trump’s strongest age cohort is among voters 40-59, with 60% viewing him favorably, compared to 48% among those over 70," Kimball stressed.

The pollster also pointed out that the president-elect's "favorability has risen among younger voters, with 55% of those under 30 expressing a favorable opinion."

What's more, 61% of men regard Trump positively while only 48% of women do. A breakdown of voters by race shows that Trump is seen favorably by 59% of whites, 53% of Hispanics, and 28% of African Americans.

Meanwhile, the poll also asked Democrats about who they would like to see run for president in 2028, with the biggest share naming Vice President Kamala Harris.

Democratic megadonor John Morgan: Harris "cannot be trusted with the money"

The prospect of Harris making another White House run doesn't sit well with Democratic megadonor John Morgan, who rejected that idea when speaking with NewsNation host Chris Cuomo earlier this week.

Morgan criticized how the vice president spent her massive war chest, saying, "I think this disqualifies her forever. If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run America."

"She cannot be trusted with the money," Morgan said of Harris. "And the donors are going to be, like, 'Where is this money?'"

He listed a number of "crazy" spending decisions which were driven by "ego," such as paying $15 million for "event production," $4 million for private jets, and giving $1 million to Oprah Winfrey's company.
