President Trump lifts stop-work order on New York wind farm project
President Donald Trump was praised by many of his strongest Democratic critics after he signaled his willingness to allow a massive wind farm project to resume.
According to the New York Post, the Trump administration had issued a stop-work order on a wind farm project that is set to create at least 1,000 jobs and eventually power hundreds of thousands of homes, only to reverse itself this week.
The Trump administration lifted the stop-work order at the behest of Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) and Big Apple Mayor Eric Adams (D). The two, and others attached to the project, praised the president for working across the aisle.
Trump had ordered the work stoppage in April, after the Department of the Interior concluded that the permits for the project were inappropriately "rushed through" by former President Joe Biden's administration.
What's going on?
Several Democrats issued statements regarding the restarting of the project, which Trump was widely praised for doing.
"I knew this critical project needed to move forward and have spent weeks pushing the federal government to rescind the stop work order to allow the workers to return and ensure this important source of renewable power could come to fruition," Gov. Hochul said.
Hochul took credit for "fighting" to get the project going while making sure to thank the president.
"I want to thank President Trump for his willingness to work with me to save the 1,500 good-paying union jobs that were on the line and helping get this essential project back on track."
"New York’s economic future is going to be powered by abundant, clean energy that helps our homes and businesses thrive. I fought to save clean energy jobs in New York — and we got it done."

Company praise
The company attached to the project, Equinor ASA, also issued a statement praising both sides.
“I would like to thank President Trump for finding a solution that saves thousands of American jobs and provides for continued investments in energy infrastructure in the U.S."
The company added, "I am grateful to Governor Hochul for her constructive collaboration with the Trump Administration, without which we would not have been able to advance this project and secure energy for 500 000 homes in New York."
Only time will tell if the project yields the results that are promised.
