Fox News recently noted that Hunter Biden is facing potential jail time over his federal tax charges. However, it emerged this week that the president's daughter Ashley has tax problems of her own.

In an article published on Monday, The Daily Caller cited documents obtained by Fox News showing Ashley Biden owes roughly $5,000 worth of unpaid income taxes.

Tax notice sent to the president's daughter

Those documents included a notice sent to the president's daughter by the Philadelphia Department of Revenue on December 1.

It explained that the "amount of such unpaid tax, interest, additions or penalties is a lien in favor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania upon the taxpayer’s property – real, personal, or both – as the case may be."

The Daily Caller pointed out that the tax notice provides January 1, 2015 as the start date, which is when Ashely Biden's father was serving as vice president.

Meanwhile, the end date is listed as January 1, 2021, which is just prior to when President Joe Biden took his oath of office.

President roasted for insisting that the wealthy must "pay their fair share"

Fox News noted that Garrett Ziegler is a former Trump White House who founded a nonprofit research group called Marco Polo which uncovered Ashley Biden's tax documents.

Marco Polo created a website which published emails found on Hunter Biden's abandoned laptop and produced a report on its contents.

While Ziegler acknowledged that the tax troubles of Ashley Biden are "not anything like" those of her brother, he argued that they point to a pattern within the Biden family.

"Joe is constantly talking about how wealthy and connected people do not pay their fair share and can afford to pay more, and it just so happens that both of his living children did not pay their taxes," Ziegler was quoted as telling Fox News.

Hunter Biden to appear in court next month

Meanwhile, Fox News reported this week that Hunter Biden will make his initial appearance in a California federal court on the 11th of next month.

Special Counsel David Weiss has charged the president's son with three felonies and six misdemeanors in connection with a $1.4 million tax which has since been paid.

Weiss's indictment contends that Biden "engaged in a four-year scheme to not pay at least $1.4 million in self-assessed federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019, from in or about January 2017 through in or about October 15, 2020, and to evade the assessment of taxes for tax year 2018 when he filed false returns in or about February 2020."
