Barron Trump made headlines last autumn when he began attending classes at New York University's Stern School of Business.

In a major career twist, Barron may be given a chance to apply some of his schooling in a leadership role at TikTok.

President signed an executive order allowing for transfer of TikTok's ownership

According to the New York Post, that hope was expressed earlier this week by Jake Advent, who served as President Donald Trump's social media manager during last year's campaign.

"I’m hopeful President Trump will consider appointing his son Barron and maybe other young Americans to TikTok’s board to help ensure it remains an app young people want to keep using," Advent was quoted as telling the Daily Mail.

The Post noted how the elder Trump signed an executive order late last month, which approved the transfer of TikTok's U.S. operations from the Chinese firm ByteDance to a group of American investors.

Trump wrote that "the proposed divestiture would allow the millions of Americans who enjoy TikTok every day to continue using it while also protecting national security."

What's more, the newspaper cited a pledge from Vice President J.D. Vance that TikTok's algorithm will now be controlled by the U.S. investors rather than ByteDance.

Barron was "very involved" in president's online strategy

Barron is no stranger to the world of social media, and multiple figures have pointed to the advice he gave his father on the subject while running for reelection.

One of them is longtime Trump adviser Jason Miller, who told Politico that "Barron has been very involved in recommending a number of the podcasts that we should do."

"I got to tell you, hats off to the young man. Every single recommendation he’s had has turned out to be absolute ratings gold that’s broke the internet. He’s done a great job," Miller added.

Lara Trump is Barron's sister-in-law, and she offered a similar perspective during an interview with podcast host Patrick Bet-David.

First lady "very proud" of the advice Barron has given to his father

"There have been many times I’ve been traveling over the course of the campaign with my father-in-law in the car," Mrs. Trump said to Bet-David.

"Barron will call and say, 'Dad, I have an idea of how you can get more votes,' and it’ll be, you know, 'You need to go to this baseball stadium' or whatever," she declared.

Meanwhile, First Lady Melania Trump remarked to Fox News' "Fox & Friends" that she is "very proud of him about his knowledge, even about politics and giving advice to his father."
