Questions about Biden grow following ad featuring former President Obama

According to CNN, former President Barack Obama recently returned to the White House for an advertisement on behalf of current President Joe Biden.

While the ad is meant to shore up support for Biden, some see it as another reason to question if he can govern on his own.

Obama boasts that "Obamacare is still a thing"

The advertisement focuses on the 2010 Affordable Care Act, a controversial piece of legislation popularly known as Obamacare.

It begins with Biden reading a question from a smart phone which asks if "Obamacare is still a thing."

The camera then pulls back to show Obama in frame to answer the question instead of Biden.

"Yes," Obama responds, adding, "Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act, Bidencare, whatever you call it, yes, it is still a thing." He then goes on to complain that Republicans have "been trying to repeal it every year since it's existed."

Critics suspect that Biden isn't the one in charge

However, the ad seems to have caused some critics to wonder whether the president is really in charge of his administration.

Meanwhile, others are suggesting that former President Obama is working behind the scenes to make his wife the 2024 Democratic nominee rather than Biden.

X user Bhiku Mhatre said, "Barack Obama is reportedly too worried that Joe Biden will lose to former President Trump in 2024. In short, lobbying for Michelle Obama has started.

Ted Cruz suggests that Democrats will "parachute in" Michelle Obama

Such speculation has been circulating for months, including among Republicans. Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz predicted that Mrs. Obama will be on the ballot when speaking with "Fox & Friends" last month.

Cruz told the hosts that there is "a very real chance" that Democrats will "jettison Joe Biden and parachute in Michelle Obama and that they'd do it at the convention next summer."

On his Verdict podcast, Cruz's cohost Ben Ferguson called the prospect "terrifying."

The former first lady largely avoided the negative press that her husband and Biden have had to confront, and she is probably one of the most popular Democrat figures today.
