Rank-and-file D.C. police officers confirm higher ups were downgrading crimes to manipulate statistics
Police officers in Washington D.C. have confirmed that higher-ups in the D.C. metropolitan police department are covering up a crime wave.
President Donald Trump has been busy cracking down on crime in Washington, D.C., despite the city's Democrat leadership insisting that crime levels are down.
Trump rightly called out D.C.'s Democrat leaders for manipulating statistics, and now rank-and-file officers have come forward confirming those allegations of higher-ups in the department downgrading crimes.
Three dozen rank-and-file officers and detectives have lodged complaints with the DOJ after an investigation into alleged crime statistic manipulation was launched.
Lying with statistics
Misclassifying or downgrading crimes has been a tool used by progressive district attorneys and other officials for years now, and it's about time their unethical practices are exposed.
Back in August, Trump deployed the National Guard to crack down on crime in D.C. This was a necessary move as the nation's capital was one of the most violent cities in America.
There is no justification that the nation's capital and seat of our government be a dangerous place where lawmakers and their aides can be robbed by armed thieves on any given night.
Looking past violent crime
Democrats have yet to stop screeching about the January 6th protest, and yet they look past rising violent crime.
Of course, Trump had zero tolerance for that, and the people of Washington, D.C. have largely approved of his decisions.
The next step is cleaning out the corrupt bureaucrats in D.C. who are lying with statistics by downgrading or misclassifying crimes.
One statistic that D.C. is using to hide violent crimes is endangerment with a firearm. The DOJ's investigation has found that many violent crimes are being classified under that name to distort crime statistics.
City leadership silent
Washington D.C.'s Democrat mayor, Muriel Bowser, has wisely been quiet on this ongoing situation. She's under enough scrutiny and has opted for the sound strategy of shutting up and hoping this storm blows over.
There is little chance of Bowser ever being removed from her post, as Democrat politicians enjoy effective immunity thanks to America's urban voters.
However, there is still a good chance that Trump's DOJ could go scorched earth on D.C.'s more obscure and faceless bureaucrats who are protecting criminals by distorting statistics.
