Rep. Comer exposes FEMA

U.S. Rep. James Comer (R-KY) just exposed the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

C0mer, according to the Washington Examinersays that, under the leadership of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris, FEMA has been "weaponized."

This comes after reports revealed that FEMA did not assist Florida residents who support President-Elect Donald Trump.

The agency has since been facing a serious backlash.

The latest from Comer

Comer discussed the situation during his recent appearance on the Fox News Channel's Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo. There, Comer argued that what happened in Florida is not out of the ordinary for the Biden administration.

"We believe this is a pattern, and this is a pattern dating back for the three previous years, all throughout the Biden-Harris administration," he said.

Comer added:

FEMA’s supposed to be a nonpartisan, good government agency that comes in to help Americans in their desperate time of need, but what we have here with FEMA is what we’ve seen with many other government agencies under Biden-Harris: a weaponized agency that discriminates against conservatives.

Comer is currently the head of the House Oversight Committee, which is investigating the situation.

A hearing on the matter is scheduled to take place this week with FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell.

Background

There has been evidence to support Comer's contention that this is only part of a much larger problem.

Fox News recently reported:

A former Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) employee said the guidance to skip over houses with Trump signs and banners is part of a larger diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) issue with the agency, saying it was "completely avoidable."

The source for this report is Chelsea Nied, "a former FEMA employee who was deployed 66 times in 22 states on the front lines of natural disasters." So, she knows what she is talking about.

Fox reports:

Public backlash came after FEMA confirmed to Fox News Digital that an employee had instructed aid workers to deny relief to residents who had Trump campaign signs at their homes. The Daily Wire was the first to report it. The outlet said approximately 20 homes in Lake Placid, Florida, were passed over and not given government assistance after Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene.

FEMA has attempted to place the blame entire on Marn'i Washington, whom the agency has fired. Congress, though, is trying to get to the bottom of this situation, which Comer clearly believes goes far beyond Washington.
