Rep. Maxine Waters barred from visiting union leader arrested during ICE protest
California Democratic Rep. Maxine Waters raised eyebrows this past weekend when she was seen taunting National Guard troops who had been deployed to Los Angeles.
However, another viral video clip may have made President Donald Trump smile, as it showed her being refused entry to a federal detention facility.
Waters attempted to visit union leader who was arrested at protest
According to the Daily Caller, Waters showed up on Saturday at the detention facility in an effort to see Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local President David Huerta.
Axios reported that Huerta was taken into custody on Friday at a violent protest against federal immigration enforcement efforts.

"Hello, hello, hello, Congresswoman. I just came to use my congressional authority. Excuse me, I need to get in," Waters could be heard telling a security official.
"I just want to see David…He is the head of SEIU local union here…I want to report back to my caucus about what happened," she added.
Union calls arrest "an attack on free expression and the labor movement"
SEIU 503 released a statement regarding Huerta's arrest which called on supporters to demand the labor leader's release.
"We strongly condemn the detention of SEIU California and SEIU USWW President David Huerta by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while he exercised his constitutional right to peacefully protest ICE’s indiscriminate immigration raids in Los Angeles," it read.
"President Huerta has long championed immigrant rights, civil liberties, and economic justice. His arrest during a lawful act of civil disobedience is an attack on free expression and the labor movement," the statement continued.
The organization then went on to assert that it "will not tolerate retaliation against those who speak out against injustice."
Another Democratic representative was also turned away
Meanwhile, Politico reported on Saturday that California Democratic Rep. Luz Rivas also complained of being barred from visiting Huerta.
"The reports of what is happening inside the Roybal Federal Building is a complete violation of our laws and a stain on our values as a country," Rivas said in a statement.
"The Trump Administration blocked my colleagues and me from conducting our congressional oversight duties into the reported abuses and neglect that is taking place at this facility," the lawmaker added.
