Rep. Ocasio-Cortez rages on social media ahead of Trump's inauguration
U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) raged on social media on Sunday, just ahead of President Donald Trump's inauguration.
Fox News reports:
A visibly agitated Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., had a busy day on social media on Sunday, taking to Instagram to make a series of rants related to President-elect Donald Trump.
She got started on TikTok
First off, Ocasio-Cortez went on TikTok and blasted the social media site for thanking President Trump for restoring the app.
In case you missed it, Fox, on Sunday, reported:
TikTok said Sunday it will be back online for users in the U.S. after going dark Saturday night. In a statement on X, the company said they made an agreement with providers to restore service after President-elect Donald Trump said Sunday that he'll issue an executive order Monday to delay the TikTok ban.
Ocasio-Cortez, however, took issue with the situation, arguing that the company ought not to thank Trump.
She, however, did say:
A law banning TikTok has been enacted in the U.S. Unfortunately, that means you can’t use TikTok for now. We are fortunate that President Trump has indicated that he will work with us on a solution to reinstate TikTok once he takes office. Please stay tuned.
Over to Instagram...
From TikTok, Ocasio-Cortez headed on over to Instagram, which she launched a more direct attack on Trump.
She said:
We are on the eve of an authoritarian administration. This is what 21st-century fascism is starting to look like.
Ocasio-Cortez, here, was once again referring to the TikTok situation. She said, "They are signaling that they are privately collaborating, they have agreed to privately collaborate with Donald Trump and the Trump administration."
She thus argued that TikTok is going to turn into a "propaganda tool for the right." This remains to be seen, but we have seen how the Biden administration used Facebook and others.
"I Don't celebrate rapists"
Ocasio-Cortez did not stop there. She also claimed that she would not be attending Trump's inauguration because, in her words, "I don't celebrate rapists."
She said:
All these journalists are like, ‘Congresswoman, Congresswoman, are you going to the inauguration? Let me make myself clear: I don’t celebrate rapists.
Trump, of course, has not been convicted of rape. ABC News's George Stephanopoulos recently learned this the hard way.
It is clear, however, that Trump and the Republicans' takeover has Ocasio-Cortez completely unhinged. What else would you expect?
