Rep. Omar facing censure resolution over nasty remarks made about Jewish students

"Squad" member Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) just can't seem to hate Israel and Jewish people enough.

As the anti-Israel protests continue to rage across the country and receive funding from antisemitic, liberal groups, they're also receiving support from high-profile, Israel-hating lawmakers like Rep. Omar.

According to Fox News, Omar, who recently referred to Jewish students at Columbia University as "pro-genocide," is about to pay, politically, for her disgustingly poor choice of words.

Rep. Don Bacon (R-NB), filed a resolution to censure Omar over the remarks, and held nothing back in criticizing her words and actions as the anti-Israel protests continue to cause chaos and problems.

What did she say?

At a recent demonstration at Columbia University, Omar made the nasty remarks to reporters.

"I think it is really unfortunate that people don’t care about the fact that all Jewish kids should be kept safe, and that we should not have to tolerate antisemitism or bigotry for all Jewish students, whether they are pro-genocide or anti-genocide."

As The Hill reported, Omar's comments received bipartisan criticism:

Omar’s comments were met with widespread condemnation. House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) said Omar was “encouraging violence against Jewish students” when “embracing pro-terrorists extremists,” House Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (CA) said “it’s not the language I would use” when asked about her comments, and the head of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said the remarks were “abhorrent.”

Not surprisingly, a rep for Omar's office accused Bacon of "misconstruing" her words.

"Attempts to misconstrue her words by drafting this baseless resolution are meant to distract from the ongoing violence and genocide occurring in Gaza and the large antiwar protests happening across our country and around the world," the rep said.

"Bold stand"

While he will reportedly not make the resolution privileged, meaning he won't immediately have it voted upon, Bacon made it clear that Omar should suffer the consequences of her sickening remarks and behavior.

"It’s unacceptable to say, calling Jewish Americans that are Americans, calling them pro-genocide," Bacon told reporters Tuesday. "It’s just unacceptable. So I want to take a bold stand."

Bacon also said Omar's "slanderous comments against Jewish students could inflame violence against the Jewish community."

Fox News added:

In addition to censuring her for those comments, Bacon's resolution also accused her of having "a long and demonstrated history of hateful rhetoric that plays into the worst antisemitic tropes."

Bacon added, "To generalize, to say that the Jewish students are responsible for this and treat them that way, that is antisemitism, right? It's one thing to protest Israel, but to stretch it over and accost Jewish students is wrong."
