Rep. Waters calls for 25th Amendment to be used against Trump
U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) just called for the Twenty-Fifth Amendment to be used against President Donald Trump.
She did so, according to Breitbart News, during a recent appearance on MSNBC.
Take a look:
OFFICIAL! Maxine Waters has been BROKEN by Trump!
She says we need to invoke “Article 25” against Trump.
Too bad she didn’t realize that it’s the 25th Amendment.

Is she serious??
What appears to have set Waters off is Trump's recent removal of Lisa Cook from the Federal Reserve's Board of Governors.
Fox News quotes Waters, during her television appearance, as saying:
This is flagrant. This is something that the president has decided to do be damned the Constitution of the United States, where an independent agency is under attack. He wants to control the Fed. He wants to be able to determine interest rates. He wants to be able to have the people on the governing board that will do exactly as they are told. This is extraordinarily dangerous. This is the makings of a dictator who is trying to control the entire economy.
Well, what else did you expect from Waters while speaking on MSNBC?
The congresswoman did not stop there.
She continued:
As far as I’m concerned, we have to move very aggressively. It is not about, you know, lingering and trying to think that maybe the courts will help us. I want, even though I know it may not happen, the cabinet that he’s appointed, a bunch of his sycophants who probably won’t do what I would recommend. It is time to call for Article 25 of the Constitution of the United States of America to determine his unfitness, to determine that something’s wrong with this president. I would suggest that we move very aggressively to talk about the danger to this country and to our democracy and not play around with this, because this is absolutely one of the most destructive things that this president could do.
Background
Trump is currently locked in a legal battle with Cook over her removal.
The Trump administration has actually hit Trump with multiple criminal referrals, alleging that Cook may have made "misrepresentations" on mortgage documents and government disclosures, the New York Post reports.
Waters, of course, did not touch upon any of this.
Regarding the whole Twenty-Fifth Amendment thing, Waters was likely referring to this:
Whenever the Vice President and a majority of either the principal officers of the executive departments or of such other body as Congress may by law provide, transmit to the President pro tempore of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives their written declaration that the President is unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office, the Vice President shall immediately assume the powers and duties of the office as Acting President.
She, of course, is living in a fantasy land if she thinks this will ever happen to Trump.
