Report: FBI deputy director may resign after clashing with Pam Bondi over Epstein list

In 2021, FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino speculated that the client list belonging to deceased financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein would be "damning."

However, a new report suggests Bongino may submit his resignation after clashing with Attorney General Pam Bondi over the issue.

Bongino and Bondi reportedly had a heated exchange

That's according to an article published by the New York Post on Friday which cited a source who is described as being familiar with what has transpired.

The source indicated that Bongino and the attorney general had a heated exchange this past week which prompted him to subsequently take the day off.

"I don’t think Dan comes back if Pam stays," the administration insider was quoted as saying of the FBI deputy director and Bondi.

What's more, the figure went on to predict that FBI Director Kash Patel may also depart if Bongino chooses to step down from his role.

"Kash and Dan have always been aligned and it’s unclear what would happen in that situation, but, you know, both of them have fought for transparency — and in a world where that’s being stifled, it wouldn’t be shocking to see them stand up for that," the source declared.

DOJ concludes that Epstein did indeed commit suicide

The confrontation between Bongino and Bondi is said to have come after the Department of Justice (DOJ) denied that Epstein's client list exists.

As Axios reported earlier this month, that conclusion came following a probe conducted by the FBI and DOJ which concluded that Epstein killed himself while in federal custody.

"There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions," an FBI memo read.

"We did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties," the document went on to add.

Rep. Paulina Luna: "The American people deserve to know truth"

That explanation is unlikely to satisfy Florida Republican Rep. Paulina Luna, who demanded greater transparency in a social media post she put up this past Tuesday.

"The American people deserve to know truth [referring to] Epstein, regardless of who it impacts," the conservative lawmaker went on to insist.

" A free people [claim] their rights, as derived from the laws of nature."
