Report: Some House Republicans want 'better communication' with Elon Musk
For more than two months, Elon Musk has been using the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to root out wasteful spending.
Yet while Musk recently attended one of President Donald Trump's cabinet meetings, some House Republicans have charged that he isn't doing enough to work with them.
"We’re getting fed to the wolves while Elon’s just tweeting"
According to Fox News, that feeling was expressed by Georgia Republican Rep. Austin Scott during a closed-door meeting on Tuesday.
"He wants to see better communication between DOGE, the president, and the House, because we’re getting fed to the wolves, while Elon’s just tweeting," one unnamed GOP lawmaker said of the congressman's remarks.
Another unidentified lawmaker spoke up as well, saying, "I'm going to echo Austin’s comments about, you know, it would be nice to have some heads up. There’s a lot of questions."
"Words matter, right? So let’s make sure we’re putting out accurate information that’s correct," the second lawmaker further stressed.
Controversy surrounding meme that Musk shared on social media
Meanwhile, South Carolina Republican Rep. Ralph Norman explained that Scott also raised concerns over a social media post which Musk put up earlier this month.

Musk shared a meme which read, "Watching Trump slash federal programs knowing it doesn't affect you because you're not a member of the Parasite Class." Above the meme he added, "Why 90% of America loves [DOGE]."
The DOGE head later expressed similar sentiments on Wednesday when commenting on an earlier post by conservative author Peter Schweizer about how DOGE "is undermining the business model which has enriched the Political Class in Washington, D.C."
Scott says Musk's rhetoric is "unacceptable"
"What Elon was talking about is those who are gaming the system are parasites," the South Carolina congressman said of Musk's comments. "But Austin looks at it differently, which is fine, Austin means right. But he said his people took offense to that."
For his part, Scott provided Fox News with a statement that read, "DOGE's recent requests for federal employees should have been coordinated with the agencies before they were issued."
"I fully support those agencies working with DOGE to improve efficiency and eliminate tax dollar waste," the Georgia lawmaker insisted.
"With that being said, referring to Americans who may need government assistance as ‘parasites’ is unacceptable in any circumstance," he went on to add.
