Reports claim Diane Keaton was battling dementia before her death
New reports are now claiming that actress Diane Keaton was battling dementia for years before her death.
Among those reporting as much is News Nation.
Prior to these reports, it was widely reported that Keaton had died from pneumonia. This, of course, does not mean that Keaton could have been suffering from both pneumonia and dementia.
Actress Diane Keaton recently passed away from pneumonia, but one source told NewsNation's Paula Froelich that Keaton had also been privately battling with dementia for years.

The latest:
Although Keaton was open about many of her health battle, her battle with dementia was one that she decided to keep secret.
News Nation reports:
The loss of Diane Keaton came as a sudden shock to the world, but her family and friends had been saying goodbye for a while. Keaton, who had not been seen in public since April and officially died from pneumonia, had also been suffering from dementia, sources tell me. “She was battling it for years,” my source said.
According to this report, Keaton was even suffering from dementia as far back as 2022, during the filming of "Maybe I do."
News Nation continues:
On the set of the 2023 film, “Maybe I Do,” which was shot in 2022, the actress allegedly had to use an earpiece during filming — in which she was fed her lines. ”It was so sad,” an on-set source said. “(Co-star) William H. Macy was very supportive, but it was also frustrating because if there was any stopping — a bathroom break, a meal, anything — it was back to square one. It was heartbreaking to watch. She was just so lovely.”
While this reporting has yet to be confirmed, it is widely known that Keaton has struggled with cancer and bulimia.
Background
The official cause of Keaton's death is indeed pneumonia.
More and more details, however, continue to be released about the actress's situation.
Fox News reported on the actress's tragic end, writing:
More details surrounding Diane Keaton's death continue to emerge. According to the 911 audio obtained by TMZ, a dispatcher revealed there was a "person down" in the early hours of Saturday morning. "Rescue 19, person down," the dispatcher said on Oct. 11, before revealing the actress’ address. The outlet reported that Keaton was transported to a local hospital by the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Other reports reveal that Keaton's health had been deteriorating rapidly before her death.
"She declined very suddenly, which was heartbreaking for everyone who loved her," a friend of hers told People magazine.
