Reports claims Musk was ousted from Trump admin over drug use

A new report is now trying to claim that Elon Musk was essentially ousted from the administration of President Donald Trump over Musk's alleged drug use.

The report comes from the New York Times, which is enough in itself to question its accuracy.

Both Musk and Trump have pushed back on the report, as we will see.

This comes as Musk's time with the Trump administration has come to an end - or, rather, as his time as a special government employee has elapsed. It appears that Musk will still advise Trump, should the president seek out his advice.

The report

The claim put forth by the Times' report is that Musk has been on all kinds of drugs.

The Daily Caller explains:

The Tesla CEO has previously said he was prescribed ketamine for depression and was taking the drug roughly every two weeks. But insiders allege Musk, 53, was taking the powerful anesthetic, which is known to have hallucinogenic properties, so frequently that it was affecting his bladder, the bombshell report claims. He also took ecstasy, psychedelic mushrooms and travelled with a daily pill box that contained about 20 different drugs, including Adderall, sources allege.

There's more.

The outlet continues:

Those around him claim that his consumption blurred the lines between medicinal and recreational, with Musk allegedly having taken drugs at private gathering across the US and in at least one foreign country, according to the NYT report which was based on a series of texts the outlet reviewed, as well as interviews with insiders.

Even less clear is whether or not Musk was taking drugs while working in the Trump administration.

Musk and Trump respond

Musk hit back at the report by attacking the New York Times, which, these days, is known more for its activism than its accuracy.

Musk also called attention to the Times' inaccurate reporting on the Russia-Trump Collusion Hoax, as it appears that the outlet may be forced to return the Pulitzer Prize that it received for this "reporting."

Trump has also weighed in on the situation.

When asked whether he was aware of the drug use, Trump said this, "No, I wasn’t. I think he’s fantastic. I think Elon is a fantastic guy. I’m not troubled by anything with Elon."
