Retired Army general who mocked Jill Biden on Twitter cleared by investigation

A retired three-star general who made fun of Jill Biden on Twitter did not violate any rules, the Army concluded.

Lt. Gen. Gary Volesky had responded to a tweet from Biden reacting to the end of Roe V. Wade.

"For nearly 50 years women have had the right to make our own decisions about our bodies," she wrote.

Volesky replied: "Glad to see you finally know what a woman is."

Army general cleared

The Army's report included a warning about "professional" social media use, but the Army determined that Volesky posted the message in his "personal capacity" and not as a representative of the military.

Still, he was admonished for bringing "negative media attention" to the armed forces with his tweet, which liberals would classify as "transphobic."

Volesky was suspended last June from his $92 an hour job advising active-duty troops. He was paid $50,046 for his work from November 2020 to August 2021, and $18,952 from September 2021 to June 2022.

The decorated general - who received honors like the Bronze Star and the Silver Star for his service - told the Army's investigators that he didn't think his tweet was a big deal because he had already decided to end his contract.

"I’ve already resigned, I don’t know why this would be a big deal," he said.

Volesky, who commanded the 101st Airborne and served as an Army spokesman, had also written a tweet responding to former congresswoman Liz Cheney that dismissed the January 6th committee as "partisan politics."

Woke military

Conservatives like Volesky are becoming black sheep in America's military leadership, which has drifted to the left in recent years - a trend that has accelerated under President Biden.

In some of his first actions in office, Biden reversed President Trump's ban on transgender troops and ordered a sweeping "stand down" to address alleged racism and extremism in the ranks. The order was likened by many to an ideological struggle session or purge.

After Roe's repeal last year, Biden permitted tax dollars to be used for the first time to pay for abortions in the military. Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) has been blocking Pentagon appointments over the policy, which runs contrary to federal law.

Jill Biden's husband notoriously used Marines as props in his infamous blood-red speech in Philadelphia that denounced Republicans as a threat to "democracy" ahead of the midterm elections.

In his retirement speech last month, former Joint Chiefs chairman General Mark Milley took a swipe at "wanna-be dictator" President Trump.

" A free people [claim] their rights, as derived from the laws of nature."
