Former Vice President Kamala Harris was absolutely destroyed by President Donald Trump in the 2024 election, even after she and her elite Hollywood friends swore to Democrats that she had it in the bag.

Heavy rumors have swirled lately that indicate Harris could be interested or even already pursuing a California gubernatorial run in 2026 when Gov. Gavin Newsom's term is up, the Daily Mail reported.

But just as he stopped her in 2024, Trump could also destroy her election, should she choose to run for California governor, through one of his top allies who said he'd run against Harris in California if she decides to do it.

Richard Grenell, a former ambassador to Germany during Trump's first term who is currently advising Trump and helping lead the Trump administration's response to the California wildfires, is set to take Harris on.

Grenell, one of Trump's most trusted people in his circle, made it crystal clear that he's ready to run against Harris should she decide to pursue the California governor's mansion.

"If Kamala Harris runs for governor, I believe that she has such baggage and hundreds of millions of dollars in educating the voters of how terrible she is, that it's a new day in California, and that the Republican actually has a shot, and I wouldn't say no," Grenell said.

Grenell made the vow in Munich, Germany last week, where much of the Trump administration was stationed while Vice President J.D. Vance and others gave speeches at a conference.

Harris hasn't made any formal declarations as far as running for governor, but she moved back to her home state of California shortly after Trump's inauguration.

Depending on who you ask, Harris' shot at becoming California's next governor is not insignificant.

"If Kamala gets in the race, it will be hers to lose," a political consultant reportedly said. "She may not have performed on the national level, but if you look at her track record in California, she's done extremely well."

Social media reacts

The possibility of Grenell running against Harris seemed to go over well with social media users.

"YES - definitely Grenell should run. Also must have voter ID and deep dive into election integrity in CALIFORNIA. The state is deeply corrupt making it impossible for a legitimate candidates to win," one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "Yes, yes, yes please! Ric Grenell for Governor of California."
