Rosie O'Donnell requests 'prayers' for imprisoned adult daughter Chelsea
President Donald Trump is not above taking some small delight in the misfortune of his declared enemies, such as former comedian Rosie O'Donnell, who felt compelled by her obsessive anti-Trump derangement to abandon her family and friends and relocate to Ireland.
O'Donnell pleaded with her social media followers this week for prayers of support for her adult daughter, Chelsea O'Donnell, after a probation violation resulted in her being sent to prison, according to Breitbart.
Trump has not commented on the unfortunate development for his biggest nemesis, but if his prior remarks about O'Donnell are any indication, he has little or no sympathy for the woman who has loudly criticized, explicitly mocked, and grotesquely smeared him with falsehoods for more than a decade.
Rosie welcomes "prayers" for her adult daughter
On Wednesday, O'Donnell took to Instagram to share a decades-old photo of her daughter, and wrote, "My child chelsea belle -- before addiction took over her life -- i loved her then i love her now as she faces a scary future -- prayers welcomed."
The former actress and comedian did not disclose the reason why she was asking for prayers for her daughter, but Breitbart noted that separate reporting indicates that Chelsea was sentenced to serve time in prison about a week earlier.
The reason for that sentencing, per court documents, was Chelsea's reported violations of a probation sentence she was currently serving, including allegations of sexual assault and a lack of progress in a court-ordered drug treatment program.
Chelsea O'Donnell's legal troubles
Us Weekly reported that it obtained court records that show Chelsea O'Donnell had her probation revoked and was ordered to serve the remainder of her sentence in prison during an October 22 hearing in a Wisconsin courtroom.
In January 2025, following three drug-related arrests in three months in 2024, O'Donnell agreed to plead guilty to some criminal charges while others were dropped, and was sentenced to serve 18 months in prison -- which was subsequently stayed and suspended -- plus six years of probation, which included her mandatory "strict compliance" with a drug treatment program.
However, despite the requirement that she stay out of trouble during that period of probation, O'Donnell was in and out of jail and court on several occasions over the past several months, which eventually led to last week's revocation.
Probation revoked
Us Weekly reported that, according to a drug court official, O'Donnell violated the terms of her probation with allegations of sexual assault as well as a failure to make sufficient progress in the treatment program she was assigned to complete.
In a filing with the criminal court, the official stated, "The facts surrounding this request have been staffed with the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Team and have been deemed sufficient grounds to warrant termination from the Marinette County Treatment Drug Court Program."
As such, O'Donnell, who had actually been held in police custody since September 9, was ordered to serve out the previously stayed prison sentence, and it was noted on Monday that she will soon be transferred, if she hasn't been already, to Wisconsin's medium-security Taycheedah Correctional Institution.
In a statement to Us Weekly, Rosie O'Donnell said of her daughter's troubles, "I have compassion for those struggling with addiction -- Chelsea was born into addiction and it has been a painful journey for her and her children. we continue to love and support her through these horrible times. Prayers welcomed."
Trump likely unsympathetic
As for President Trump, while he might find it in his heart to offer up a prayer for Chelsea O'Donnell, even though she's justifiably reaping what she sowed, he would probably do little more than laugh at and mock Rosie O'Donnell over the situation, based on his most recent Truth Social posts about her.
In July, Trump wrote, "Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!"
He followed that up in September with another post that said, "As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship. She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!"
