Royal Family experts assert British King Charles is done with 'toxic' and dishonest Prince Andrew over revealed Epstein contacts
It was recently revealed that British Royal Prince Andrew previously lied to the public about when he ended his once-close association with deceased convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
That revelation is said to have "humiliated" King Charles III, according to several Royal Family experts, and the British monarch is now considering additional steps to distance himself from his disgraced brother, Fox News reported.
The news likely also ends any remaining hope that Andrew, who was compelled by his late Queen mother to step back from his royal duties and was stripped of most of his titles in 2019, may have still had of regaining the Royal Family's good graces and benefits.
Prince Andrew exposed over lie about contact with Epstein
Last week, the Daily Mail reported that an email sent by Prince Andrew to Epstein in 2011 was exposed in a court filing in a legal dispute involving another disgraced former associate of the late convicted pedophile, former Barclays Bank CEO Jes Staley.
The February 2011 email, which discussed some embarrassing press reports about Andrew and Epstein, concluded with the message from the British prince: "Keep in close touch and we'll play some more soon!!!!"
That sharply undermines and contradicts Andrew's insistent claim in a 2019 BBC Newsnight interview that he had completely cut all contact with Epstein during a December 2010 visit to New York City due to Epstein's prior criminal conviction and lingering allegations of child sex trafficking.
Andrew emphatically told the interviewer that he and Epstein had mutually agreed they could no longer be friends during a walk in Central Park and then claimed -- falsely, as it turned out -- that he left town "the next day and to this day I never had any contact with him from that day forward."
King Charles "beyond exasperated" with brother Andrew
Hilary Fordwich, a British Royal Family expert, told Fox News, "King Charles III is expected to do all he can to disassociate himself publicly and to make certain Andrew doesn’t appear with any senior members of the royal family."
"When it comes to his wayward brother, King Charles III is beyond exasperated," she added. "After this ghastly email … any hope for Andrew is gone. He is a national and royal embarrassment to all."
Helena Chard, a British broadcaster and photographer, told the outlet, "Prince Andrew is pining for his previous life, although he is lucky that he can throw himself into the proud grandfather role. The royal family and the few friends he has left are sadly burdened with the negative fallout."
"I wish I could say that this is the last shameful Prince Andrew controversy we will be discussing," she added. "But sadly, I feel there will be further uncomfortable headlines."
Andrew is now considered "toxic" to the Royal Family's "brand"
Royal Family expert Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News of Prince Andrew, "The allegation of further contact with Epstein, which is coming out now, will be seen as further damage to the royal brand," and added of the Duke of York, "Andrew has become so toxic that any future attempt to reinvent himself as a working royal will fail."
Likewise, Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliam told the outlet, "Andrew’s grotesquely entitled behavior is a major embarrassment for the royal family," and that his "catastrophic" 2019 BBC interview was "one of the most bizarre public relations disasters in history."
"Andrew refuses to give up living in the 30-room Royal Lodge, despite King Charles having removed his allowance and stopped paying for his security," he added, nor has he ever acknowledged any guilt. "It’s impossible to imagine, apart from a funeral, that he could be seen at a royal event in the future. If he took up charitable work, if he took a job helping to manage the royal estates, or if, as he promised to do, he helped the FBI … things still might change. As it is, he exists in a weird limbo. His dukedom could only be removed by an Act of Parliament. Nobody knows what might surface next."
