San Francisco being quietly cleaned ahead of hosting meetings with Biden, China's Xi
San Francisco is quietly being cleaned up ahead of meetings between President Joe Biden and Chinese President Jinping Xi in the city.
Homeless encampments have been taken down or moved, while drug addicts on the streets in the city's downtown have been removed.

The focus
"The city focused on seven intersections in the Tenderloin and South of Market, or SoMa, neighborhoods which is home to some of the more concentrated encampments where drug-addled people high on fentanyl and heroin can be seen passed out on the streets every day," the New York Post reported.
“They started clearing the tents earlier this week and there is definitely a lot more police presence,” SoMa resident and community activist Ricci Lee Wynne told The Post.
So San Francisco decides to roll out the red carpet for Pres Xi Jinping by cleaning up years of crime and grime in a matter of days. If it’s that freaking easy to do, why not do it for American citizens and taxpayers instead of a communist Chinese…

The issue
Fox host Jeanine Pirro blasted the superficial cleanup effort, calling on the city to care more about its own citizens.
"So San Francisco decides to roll out the red carpet for Pres Xi Jinping by cleaning up years of crime and grime in a matter of days," she posted to X.
"If it’s that freaking easy to do, why not do it for American citizens and taxpayers instead of a communist Chinese dictator?! Who cares what he thinks," she continued.

It's serious
"The intersection at Seventh and Market is the center of San Francisco's drug crisis - with 20% of 2023 drug crimes taking place around the sketchy street corner," the Daily Mail reported.
"San Francisco is on track to set a record for fatal drug overdoses this year - 54 people died in the city from unintentional overdoses in September alone," it noted.
Some leaders are also criticizing Biden for meeting with China's president over the nation's human rights issues and responses to global conflicts in Ukraine and Israel.
The concerns continue to stand out for Biden and for San Francisco as the city seeks to quickly improve its image before his visit.
