Schumer forces Senate to listen to all 1,000 pages of Trump's 'big, beautiful bill'
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is forcing the members of the upper chamber to listen to each page of the 1,000-page "big, beautiful" bill that Republicans just passed on behalf of President Donald Trump.
This, according to The Hill, had the effect of delaying the passage of the bill.
As we will see, however, despite Schumer's tactic, the bill did get passed.

"Big, ugly bill"
Schumer, on Saturday, prepared his fellow Democrats for the reading of the bill.
The point of the tactic, of course, was to bring to light aspects of the bill that Schumer thinks are questionable.
The move would take hours to complete.
After the reading of the bill, Schumer released a statement trying to capitalize on the situation.
He, in part, said:
I objected to stop Republicans moving forward on their Big, Ugly Bill until they read every single word of it to the American people They are scrambling to pass their radical bill, released in the dead of night, praying Americans don’t realize what’s in it
Senate passes the bill, Trump celebrates
The members of the upper chamber passed the bill by a narrow 2-vote margin on Saturday. The final tally was 51-49, with U.S. Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Thom Tillis (R-NC) joining Senate Democrats to vote against it.
Trump, afterwards, took to social media to celebrate.
He wrote:
Tonight we saw a GREAT VICTORY in the Senate with the “GREAT, BIG, BEAUTIFUL BILL,” but, it wouldn’t have happened without the Fantastic Work of Senator Rick Scott, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Ron Johnson, and Senator Cynthia Lummis. They, along with all of the other Republican Patriots who voted for the Bill, are people who truly love our Country! As President of the USA, I am proud of them all . . .
The president went on to provide a preview of things to come, although it is worth mentioning that the bill does still have to make it through the U.S. House of Representatives.
Trump concluded:
[I] look forward to working with them to GROW OUR ECONOMY, REDUCE WASTEFUL SPENDING, SECURE OUR BORDER, FIGHT FOR OUR MILITARY/VETS, ENSURE THAT OUR MEDICAID SYSTEM HELPS THOSE WHO TRULY NEED IT, PROTECT OUR SECOND AMENDMENT, AND SO MUCH MORE. GOD BLESS AMERICA &, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!
