Search continues for convicted killer and illegal alien Danelo Cavalcante
Residents of southeastern Pennsylvania remain on edge following the escape late last month of a convicted killer.
According to Fox News, illegal alien Danelo Cavalcante was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend in 2021 and is also wanted for murder in his native Brazil.
Cavalcante believed to be in Chester County
Cavalcante managed to make his way out of the Chester County Prison on August 31, sparking off an almost two-week-long manhunt.
Philadelphia's ABC 6 Action News reported on Monday that state authorities believe Cavalcante continues to remain within Chester County.
However, is also thought to have "slipped out of the original search area, changed his appearance, stole a dairy delivery van and tried to contact acquaintances."
The news station noted that footage of Cavalcante has been recovered from a doorbell video camera while the dairy truck has since been found.
Residents told to remain vigilant
The Pennsylvania State Police put out a tweet on Monday asking local residents "to remain on the lookout and ensure vehicles and homes remain locked."

Convict's sister is facing deportation
CNN noted that Cavalcante's escape has taken a toll among those who live in southeastern Pennsylvania, including his victim’s sister, Sarah Brandoa.
She told the network, "I haven’t slept for many days. Since (his escape) I have been waking up with fright at night. I nap and wake up with fright."
Meanwhile, Fox News reported on Monday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents have arrested Cavalcante’s sister.
The network cited Pennsylvania State Police Lt. Col. George Bivens as saying at a press conference on Sunday that Eleni Cavalcante faces possible deportation over "some immigration issues."
