Sen. Amy Klobuchar says White House should be more transparent about drone problem
For nearly a month, residents of New Jersey and other northeastern states have been seeing numerous drones operating above.
The phenomenon has left many Americans unsettled, with even some Democrats saying that White House needs to be more transparent about what is going on.
Senator calls for briefing on the issue
According to Breitbart, one of those Democrats is Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, who voiced concerns during an interview on Sunday with CBS's "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan.
"I do want to ask you about these drones on the East Coast because we looked at your record, and you actually co-sponsored legislation a few years ago trying to expand authorities to deal with them," Brennan pointed out.
"Why do you need an act of Congress to deal with this, and why didn’t the Democrats move on it?" the television host went on to ask.

"Well, first of all, the administration has repeatedly assured people that they are safe. However, one, we need a briefing for the members of the Senate to figure out what’s going on here," Klobuchar responded.
Former New Jersey governor slams Homeland Security secretary
The Minnesota lawmaker went on to insist that "we need more transparency" from the White House, a position which is shared by former New Jersey Republican Gov. Chris Christie.
As Fox News reported, Christie denounced a recent claim made by Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas that the drone sightings are not unusual.
"To say this is not unusual activity, it’s just wrong. I’ve lived in New Jersey my whole life. This is the first time that I’ve noticed drones over my house," Christie told ABC News host George Stephanopoulos on Sunday.
"And I was in a restaurant in Monmouth County on Friday night, had people at the bar coming up to me and saying, 'Gov. Murphy won’t tell me anything. The president won’t tell me anything,'" Christie added.
Drone operator describes bizarre encounter with unknown device
Meanwhile, Fox News reported on Monday that a New Jersey drone operator claims that a signal forced his drone out of the sky while the unidentified drone he was investigating was able to stay in the air.
"There was a drone just hanging out. I had full battery life. Not three minutes into the flight, I lost control of the drone," said podcaster and paranormal investigator Michael B. "Drone started going down. Dead battery."
The incident took place near an Army facility known as Picatinny Arsenal. An Army spokesperson informed Fox News that Picatinny Arsenal requested temporary flight restrictions due to the number of drones that have been flying over it.
