Sen. Fetterman admits Trump 'has a connection' to PA voters
Even though he claims that Vice President Kamala Harris will ultimately win his home state of Pennsylvania, Democratic Sen. John Fetterman made an interesting admission in the final hours before Election Day.
According to Breitbart, during a recent CNN interview, Fetterman admitted that he believes not only that Trump connects well with Pennsylvania voters, but that the race with Vice President Kamala Harris will be "close."
The Pennsylvania Democrat has made several similar admissions about how close the race will likely be in his state.
Pennsylvania is considered one of the most crucial battleground states for either candidate to win, and whoever claims victory there will likely carve an easy path to enough Electoral College votes to win the White House.
What did he say?
Fetterman, who is known for not holding back or filtering his words, told CNN's Dana Bash that while he believes Harris will win, she doesn't quite have the race in the bag.
Bash asked, " When Trump won Pennsylvania you said your party wasn’t connecting with voters enough that it needs. What are you seeing now? Are you seeing any of the same warning signs in 2024?”
Fetterman replied, "No, there’s nothing new here. I said the same thing in 2016. I said it will be close. There’s an issue there, and I said it is going to be close in 2020, and it was. I have been saying this: when it was Biden or Harris, it was going to be very close.

He added, "And Trump definitely has a connection with voters here in Pennsylvania. That’s why it’s going to be close. But there’s a lot of tremendous amount of energy for Harris too. Yesterday I was in Eerie and with President Clinton and I was in Butler County as well too. The energy is really strong."
"I just met a whole bus of volunteers from Rochester, New York and they are showing up and will knock on doors for Harris.”
Social media reaction
Users across social media, especially those who support Trump, weighed in on Fetterman's somewhat surprising commentary.
"The truth is Trump needs to win by a margin that will overcome the election hijinks we know are coming from the Democrats," one X user wrote.
Another X user wrote, "The Dems definitely regret placing Fetterman in the Senate now!"
Hopefully, Trump wins so overwhelmingly that we will be able to avoid repeating what was a total mess in the Keystone State during the 2020 election.
