Sen. John Fetterman wears basketball shorts as he speaks alongside President Joe Biden
Pennsylvania sparked controversy late last week when he spoke alongside President Joe Biden while clad in a hoodie and basketball shorts that exposed his legs.
According to the New York Post, Fetterman and Biden spoke with reporters shortly after they toured a collapsed I-95 overpass in Philadelphia.
Fetterman's cognitive problems remain evident
The content of Fetterman's statements also suggest that he continues to suffer from a degree of cognitive impairment stemming from last year's stroke.
"This is a president that is committed to infructure, yeah, and then on top of that the jewel kind of a law of the infration," the Democratic lawmaker remarked.
FETTERMAN: "[Biden] is here to commit to work with the governor and the delegadation to make sure that we get this fixed quick, fast, as well, too. This is not the first time Fetterman's choice of dress has raised eyebrows, as the Post noted that he faced similar criticism in May for appearing at a press conference while wearing a hoodie and basketball shorts.
Fetterman's choice of attire slammed as "unbecoming"
Colorado Republican Rep. Lauren Boebert tweeted, "John Fetterman redefined Casual Friday on a Thursday morning."
"It’s truly unbecoming for someone to show up like that to any job, let alone a job that only 100 people are elected to do," she continued, adding, "There’s just no excuse for it."

Nor was it the only time in which Fetterman struggled to remain coherent, as just a day before he had difficulty forming a sentence when discussing the I-95 overpass' collapse.
"Uh no, I – uh, would just, um, really like to, you know — the 95, 95, 95."
As the Post reported, Fetterman was asked during a hearing by fellow Democrat and Senate Environment Committee Chairman Tom Carper to weigh in on the matter.
"Uh no, I – uh, would just, um, really like to, you know — the 95, 95, 95. You know?" the Pennsylvania senator began awkwardly.
"Obviously, you know, you’re pretty much preoccupied with uh 95. And uh, I certainly am, too. And we know it’s a major atery[sic], not just for Pennsylvania but for the East Coast. And a lot of Pennsylvanians are worried that the delays in repairs bring to its stand still deal," he said.
