U.S. Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) just suffered yet another fall.

Breitbart News reports that the situation took place on Thursday in Washington, D.C.

Unfortunately for the 83-year-old McConnell, it was caught on video, and the video is rapidly circulating on the internet. Take a look:

The details

According to the New York Post, the incident took place as McConnell was walking through the halls of the Senate office building.

Per the outlet:

Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) was caught on camera taking a nasty tumble in the hallway of a Senate office building Thursday. The 83-year-old, who was en route to the Capitol for votes, grabbed at an aide’s arm seconds before he went down. McConnell, who announced in February that he would not seek another term next year, was quickly helped to his feet by the aide and a guard.

All things considered, McConnell appeared to take the fall fairly well.

The Post continues:

The venerable lawmaker waved at bystanders before hobbling away. He’s all good,” McConnell’s spokesperson told The Post in response to a request for comment. “[He] went on to vote and [is] ready to vote again … to see if Dems decide to fund our nation’s defense priorities or not.”

It is unclear whether McConnell received any medical assistance after the fall.

Background

As suggested at the outset, this was not McConnell's first fall.

Breitbart reports:

This is far from the first time McConnell has been caught on camera struggling. The longtime Republican leader took a tumble last December following the Senate Republican Conference’s weekly Tuesday lunch. He reportedly got a cut on his face from the fall and received medical treatment afterwards . . . In February 2025, McConnell fell down the stairs outside the Senate chamber, although he quickly recovered.

McConnell also has had problems other than struggling to stay upright.

Breitbart adds:

These episodes follow more concerning instances of McConnell seemingly freezing in front of reporters, which then raised questions about the octogenarian’s ability to remain Republican leader.

McConnell's days in Congress are numbered, as he will not seek reelection. It is no secret that he and President Donald Trump have not seen eye-to-eye, and McConnell has faced significant criticism from the MAGA movement.
