Sen. Rand Paul suggests Elon Musk should be House Speaker
SpaceX, X, and Tesla owner and billionaire Elon Musk is becoming an unstoppable force within the political world -- specifically among conservatives.
According to Breitbart, Musk is making waves among members of Congress, including Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) who recently suggested that Musk should be the next Speaker of the House.
Musk was put in charge of an unofficial unit under President-elect Donald Trump's incoming administration -- a task force that will slash and burn all forms of government waste.
It appears as if Musk already has tremendous influence as he was credited with sinking one of the earlier versions of the government spending bill this week.
What's going on?
Crediting Musk for exerting enough influence on House Republicans to kill the massive, pork-filled version of the bill, Paul reminded followers on X that a House Speaker need not be an elected member of Congress.
"The Speaker of the House need not be a member of Congress," Paul posted on X.
He added, "Nothing would disrupt the swamp more than electing Elon Musk . . . think about it . . . nothing’s impossible. (not to mention the joy at seeing the collective establishment, aka ‘uniparty,’ lose their ever-lovin’ minds)."

The endorsement from Sen. Paul came as Speaker Mike Johnson's time in the Speaker's chair seems to be dwindling down, especially after trying to pass a bill that was filled with pork and side quests for many members of Congress.
Some GOP members of the House have already signaled that they will not back Johnson in the next speakership vote.
Trump giving him a shot?
It appears as if Trump put Johnson on notice regarding his House leadership position, saying he could have a shot at keeping the gavel if he follows several demands.
"Anybody that supports a bill that doesn’t take care of the Democrat quicksand known as the debt ceiling should be primaried and disposed of as quickly as possible," Trump told Fox News Digital.
He said Johnson could "easily" remain the Speaker if he's careful to navigate traps set by Democrats.
Only time will tell if Johnson keeps his job and if he doesn't, if someone like Musk could ultimately replace him.
