Most of President Donald Trump's nominees have made it through their Senate confirmation hearings and votes, with just a few left, including Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Kennedy was selected by Trump to lead the Health and Human Services agency and was tasked with making America healthy again. Opposition to his confirmation has been much more prevalent that with other Trump picks, but it seems as though the pressure is easing a bit.

According to The Blaze, Sen. Susan Collins (R-ME), originally a Republican holdout on RFK's confirmation, now says she's a "yes" vote.

The news is huge for RFK and President Trump.

What's going on?

Democrats were hoping that Collins would hold out and not vote yes on his confirmation, as she was considered a critical swing vote that could very well determine whether or not he'll be the next HHS secretary.

Collins made headlines last month after she came out against voting in favor of confirming Pete Hegseth as Defense Secretary.

The Maine senator, during a CNN interview, said that RFK had reassured her on certain issues of concern, which ultimately led to her getting on board with backing him for HHS secretary.

"He seemed to understand the concerns that I was raising about what it would mean for more very important ongoing biomedical research including clinical trials," Collins said.

Soothing concerns

She had originally taken issue with cuts that RFK planned to make to HHS.

"This morning, I called Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the nominee to head the Department of Health and Human Services, to express my strong opposition to these arbitrary cuts in funding for vital research at our Maine institutions, which are known for their excellence," she said.

"He has promised that as soon as he is confirmed, he will re-examine this initiative that was implemented prior to his confirmation."

Social media reacts

Users across social media reacted to Collins' position on voting in favor of RFK, with many suggesting that she knows her job would be on the line if she was a no vote.

"We want Tulsi Gabbard RFK Jr and Kash CONFIRMED!!" one X user wrote.

Another X user wrote, "It should not take this long. Senate leadership is a joke. Take a few lessons from Trump on how to get things done. The old political payola system isn’t acceptable anymore."
