Senate confirms another controversial Trump pick
The U.S. Senate just confirmed one of President Donald Trump's more controversial nominees.
CBS News reports that senators, on Thursday, voted in favor of confirming Russ Vought.
Vought is the man whom Trump has chosen to be the next leader of the Office of Management and Budget.
The Democrats tried hard to stop Vought from getting the nod, but Republicans managed to get him over the line. The final vote was 53 to 47. It went exactly along party lines.
More theatrics from the left
The confirmation of Vought brought out even more theatrics from the Democratic members of the U.S. Senate.
Fox News reports:
Republicans backed Vought’s nomination, arguing he proved a qualified candidate for the role since he previously held the position during President Donald Trump’s first term. Democrats, however, raised multiple concerns about his nomination and said his views on the Impoundment Control Act, which reinforces that Congress holds the power of the purse, disqualified him from the role.
The outlet goes on to report that "Democrats held a 30-hour-long protest against Vought’s nomination, delivering speeches in the middle of the night on Wednesday in an attempt to delay the confirmation vote."
Among the culprits who led this 30-hour-long protest was U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA). Take a look at what she was up to:

"God be praised"
Despite the theatrics from the Democrats, Vought, as stated, did manage to get confirmed by the upper chamber. He was extremely grateful after all the shouting was done.
Vought took to his Twitter account and wrote, "God be praised. Grateful to the President and the US Senate. Incredibly thankful for all the many who prayed me through. Now. Let's. Go."
For those unfamiliar with the OMB, Fox explains, "The OMB is responsible for developing and executing the president’s budget, as well as overseeing and coordinating legislative proposals and priorities aligned with the executive branch."
It is an important position, and we know that Vought can handle this job, as he did it during Trump's first term in the White House.
One of the big things that Trump is pushing, in his second term, is a "balanced budget." He is pushing hard to make this into a reality. Vought, no doubt, will be one of the guys who can help Trump to get there.
