Ever since President Donald Trump took office last month, Senate Republicans have worked nearly nonstop to overcome the incessant delay tactics from their Democratic colleagues and get Trump's Cabinet nominees confirmed.

On Friday, new FBI Director Kash Patel was sworn in following a successful confirmation vote in the Senate less than 24 hours earlier, Fox News reported.

According to Sen. Markwayne Mullin (R-OK), Patel's confirmation makes Trump and the Senate GOP 19-0 thus far in confirming the president's Cabinet picks.

Patel sworn in as FBI director

Fox News reported that after being formally sworn in on Friday by Attorney General Pam Bondi, Patel became the ninth FBI director in U.S. history and is the first Indian-American and minority to hold the position -- a historic moment that Democrats would typically cheer, if they didn't hold so much enmity and fear toward the man.

"I am living the American dream. And anyone that thinks the American dream is dead, just look right here," Patel said in his remarks following his official oath. "You're talking to a first-generation Indian kid who's about to lead the law enforcement community of the greatest nation on God's green earth. That can't happen anywhere else."

The new director also issued a promise to the lawmakers who confirmed him and a warning for those who opposed his leadership as he vowed, "There will be accountability within the FBI and outside of the FBI, and we will do it through rigorous constitutional oversight starting this weekend."

19-0 on Trump nominees

Sen. Mullin, who was conducting a live stream with pro-Trump podcaster Benny Johnson in his Senate office while the Thursday afternoon confirmation vote for Patel was finalized, posted on X a video of himself celebrating the exciting moment by climbing atop his desk and spiking a football.

"Was this on my bingo card? No. But we're psyched to have @FBIDirectorKash confirmed. 19-0!" the Oklahoma Republican wrote along with an American flag emoji.

In a Friday afternoon X post, Mullin again referenced how President Trump and Senate Republicans had an undefeated record of 19-0 thus far on confirming Trump's Cabinet nominees -- including some of the president's more controversial picks who Democrats and the media had vigorously opposed.

"Next week, @POTUS will host his FIRST cabinet meeting. It's a full house," the senator wrote. "@SenateGOP is 19-0 on confirmations, and the clock is still running on the remaining 4 cabinet-level spots: UN, TRADE, LABOR, & ED."

How it has all happened

During his live stream event with Johnson on Thursday, Sen. Mullin was also joined briefly by Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) while he discussed some of the details of how Senate Republicans under Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) have essentially kept the clock running nonstop to overcome the concerted efforts by Democrats to delay or block confirmation votes for the president's nominees.

He also revealed how it had been President Trump's idea to push forward early and resolutely with the confirmation of one of his most controversial picks, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, which helped encourage other nominees and senators to stand firm against the false allegations and smears hurled by Democrats and their media allies.

Mullin shared some of that conversation on Instagram and wrote, "It was President Trump’s call to have @PeteHegseth face the Senate first. Once we set the pace, nobody has stopped @SenateGOP. We’re 19-0 on confirmations, with Kash Patel today. My take on how we got here."
