Some Republicans are breaking with Trump over support for Israel
For years, President Donald Trump has regularly touted his status as the most pro-Israel figure ever to occupy the White House.
Yet in a move that left some observers blindsided, some of Trump's MAGA allies appear to be turning against unconditional support for the Jewish state.
Marjorie Taylor Greene condemns "genocide" in Gaza
According to The Hill, Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene and Texas Republican Rep. Lance Gooden recently expressed alarm over events in Gaza.
"It's the most truthful and easiest thing to say that Oct 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis, and starvation happening in Gaza," Greene wrote in a social media post on Monday evening.
Meanwhile, Gooden wrote, "Standing with Israel means eliminating every barbaric Hamas terrorist. It also means rejecting the killing and starvation of children in Gaza."
Other Republicans say that claims of starvation in Gaza are false
Greene has clashed with Florida Republican Rep. Randy Fine, who declared in a social media post of his own on Sunday that claims of starvation in Gaza are false before adding, "Everything about the 'Palestinian' cause is a lie."
There is no starvation.

Fine's comments came in response to a thread from investigative journalist David Collier, who presented evidence that one allegedly starving child actually suffers from a genetic disorder.
"I watched [BBC News] lie on screen," he wrote. "They interviewed the mother. She referenced a history of physiotherapy. The signs were there. The BBC ignored them. Instead reported the curved spine was from famine."
Trump: "Those children look very hungry"
The Hill reported that for his part, Trump was asked about the Israeli government's insistence that starvation is not happening in Israel during a meeting on Monday with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
"I mean, based on television, I would say not particularly because those children look very hungry," Trump said to reporters.
A source said to be close with the White House told The Hill, "A way has to be found to get aid to Gaza and to discredit efforts by Hamas to blame the humanitarian situation on the U.S. and Israel."
The unnamed figure insisted that "Trump is committed to ending this conflict" but added, "I don’t know what his next steps will be."
