Starbucks retreating from 'Pride' advocacy: report

Disgruntled workers for "woke" coffee chain Starbucks are up in arms over the company's alleged retreat from "Pride" advocacy.

The Starbucks union claims that workers at various locations have been told not to hang LGBT-related decorations this year, as companies on the frontlines of America's culture wars feel the heat for pushing "Pride" onto their customers.

A backlash began to brew with the boycott against Bud Light over its partnership with "trans" influencer Dylan Mulvaney, and then Target caused a public outcry with its aggressive marketing of sexualized merchandise to children.

Starbucks retreats?

Now, Starbucks employees say the company isn't hanging up "Pride" displays this year.

“We’ve been told because we don’t have a ladder, we can’t hang up our pride decorations,” Amanda Rivera, a shift supervisor at an Atlanta location, said. “We were also told that Starbucks doesn’t want us to have anything apart from how the store was designed."

But Starbucks insists the reports of its reversal are unfounded.

“We unwaveringly support the LGBTQIA2+ community. There has been no change to any policy on this matter and we continue to encourage our store leaders to celebrate with their communities including for U.S. Pride month in June,” Andrew Trull, a spokesperson for the company, said.

Backlash

The alleged about-face on "Pride" is the latest indication that one of the left's many false idols is tottering after years of overreach from the so-called LGBT "community," which less than a decade ago was pleading for "equality."

Many say those days are long behind, with "Pride" having metastasized into an overbearing public observance in which everyone is enrolled. The aggressive targeting of children has been, for many, a red line crossed.

President Biden caused an uproar this week for claiming ownership of America's children, tweeting, "These are our kids" as part of the administration's commemoration of "Pride."

Biden also caused outrage by hanging a "Pride" banner from the White House balcony in place of the American flag. The White House later took the surprising step of condemning a "trans" man who exposed his chest on the White House lawn.

The left hasn't responded well to the backlash, with multiple Target locations receiving bomb threats for removing "Pride" displays from their stores. Misleading mainstream media reports suggested the threats had come from conservatives.
