President Joe Biden and his administration are struggling to find out how to deal with the growing anti-Israel protests regarding the White House's policy views on the matter.

According to Breitbart, the White House took a massive hit this week after an Arabic-language spokesperson for the State Department quit her job over the Biden administration's support for Israel.

Hala Rharrit became the third State Department employee to resign over the White House's stance on Israel.

She made clear in her resignation notice that she was leaving her position "in opposition to the United States’ Gaza policy."

What's going on?

Rharrit published her resignation statement in a LinkedIn post last week, holding nothing back as to why she decided to leave her career.

"I resigned April 2024 after 18 years of distinguished service in opposition to the United States’ Gaza policy," she wrote.

The State Department was asked about the resignation, given that it's the third of its kind, only to reply that the State Department has "channels" for disgruntled employees to express their frustration over the administration's support for Israel.

Breitbart noted:

The Jewish Insider publication recently revealed that the department has held anti-Israel “listening sessions” for disgruntled staff to complain about support for Israel, which the vast majority of Americans support.

Other media outlets have reported "signs of dissent" increasing within the Biden administration over its support for Israel, meaning that more resignations are likely to happen in the coming weeks as the intensity surrounding the situation continues to flare.

She's not the first

Josh Paul, the former director of the Office of Congressional & Public Affairs for the State Department’s Bureau of Political-Military Affairs, was one of the first to resign for the same reason. He quit the administration in October of last year.

"I am leaving today because I believe that in our current course with regards to the continued – indeed, expanded and expedited – provision of lethal arms to Israel – 1 have reached the end of that bargain," Paul said at the time.

Annelle Sheline of the State Department's Human Rights Bureau announced her resignation for the same reason last month.

The Biden administration is presumably scrambling to stem the number of resignations, as it's obviously terrible PR for the president's 2024 campaign.
